Family Ministries

Families at Valley are celebrated and supported by the entire congregation.

There are so many ways to get involved and grow in your faith at Valley. We have activities for all ages, marital status, children, families, parents, grandparents, and young adults. We are committed to nurturing one another in our faith. No matter who you are, you will find a place to belong at Valley. Keep informed by joining our Family Ministries Facebook Page. For questions about family programming, contact Sheila Sheldon at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

We provide many opportunities for families to get together and have fun with their kids. There are fall trips to a local apple orchard, summer play-dates for stay-at-home parents, family game nights at the church or a local park, and Easter egg hunts in the spring.

Drop the kids off for a few hours. Kids eat, play, and watch movies. What you do with your time is completely up to you. This event is for kids in preschool through fifth grade, for children younger than three the nursery will be available with skilled care attendants. The cost for the event is five dollars per child birth through fifth grade. Allergy friendly food options available upon request at sign-up.

Join us on Wednesday evenings at Valley for just $5 a class. Drop-ins always welcome! Call the church office for more information.

A home brewing group that meets monthly at various locations to create quality beers, talk about home brewing and enjoy good company.
Ladies night out is a fun way to connect with new Valley friends, learn and grow. We also host retreats throughout the year. Retreats offer a time away to renew and reconnect.

You've heard of Let's Dish? Well, this is a chance for Valley members to make pre-prepared meals for their families. The menu and shopping is done for you, all you have to do is show up to help cook and assemble meals. Costs vary depending on the menu.

Valley hosts two co-ed softball teams, Valley United and Valley United Again. The focus is on getting some fresh air and having fun together.

Smith Family

After attending a wedding at Valley and getting to know Pastor Richard and his wife - Jean Ann, we decided to visit on Sunday a few weeks later as we were searching for a new church home. Feeling like kids on the first day of school, we apprehensively shuffled out of the sanctuary following the service and were immediately approached by warm smiling faces. We agreed to partake in the beloved coffee and donut hour where we met more people than we could count. In that moment, we were home!

Everyone at Valley is part of a family. We take care of each others kids, host birthday parties for one another and generally “do life” together. Our community, however, doesn’t just include those of us who sit next to one another on Sundays. There is no shortage of opportunities to make an impact outside the Valley walls.

One more thing worth highlighting is that Valley loves our little worshipers. They are beloved members within the community; they have their own special play space IN the sanctuary, partake in a children’s sermon during Sunday service and have an abundance of programming to learn, grow and just be kids. This place is truly special; I do not know what we would do without Valley.
