The Synod is an assembly of churches that supports the work of the presbyteries and congregations in its jurisdiction. The Synod of Lakes and Prairies encompasses the geographic region of the states of Iowa, North and South Dakota, Minnesota, much of Nebraska and Wisconsin.

The Presbytery of the Twin Cities Area encompasses the geographic regions of the southeastern portion of the state of Minnesota, as well as a portion of western Wisconsin. The presbytery, a group of presbyterians, supports the work of the PC(USA) congregations in its jurisdiction.
