A Community of Care
Valley is a Matthew 25 congregation, called by God to be part of Christ’s presence in our community; using our hands and feet while working and walking alongside others to bring peace into our midst by doing justice.
Being part of mission in the Valley means being part of a community that not only cares & connects but takes action. When a member of this community sees a need that should be addressed, but it is too big for any individual, they know there is Valley. A community of care exists, formed by people who have decided that it will be known by what it does for others. This community is one that does not believe it does enough. What it asks is, "What's next?" Blessed and ready, Valley pays it forward.
While we focus on supporting effective safety net programs, we join our partners such as PRISM in the intention of “taking action today, tomorrow, and the next day, until the individually-funded safety net is no longer needed, and our systems ensure that all people have their basic needs met.”
Bringing peace into our midst through justice and service.
PRISM provides dignity-centred resources for food, housing, and other basic needs in the NW Twin Cities suburbs.

The Every Meal program provides supplemental food to children and families who are eligible for free/reduced lunch during the school year.
This program is part of Valley's Noble Vision. Another facet of our Noble Vision is our tutoring partnership with the school. Our volunteers help with reading, math, and homework needs during the school day.
Habitat for Humanity
Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity brings affordable housing to Twin Cities area communities. To honor the legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Valley organizes volunteers to work on a Habitat project over the January holiday.
Bridging provides donated furniture and household goods to families and individuals transitioning out of homelessness and poverty. Bridging gives hope – and for many – a leap toward stability for the first time.
Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery
Minneapolis Crisis Nursery offers free, voluntary services for parents who face barriers such as poverty, domestic violence, and other difficult situations. They strengthen families by connecting them to resources, caring for their children during difficult times, and setting goals that promote self-sufficiency and make the relationship between the parent and child stronger.
Meals on Wheels
Community Emergency Assistance Program’s Meals on Wheels program (MOW) provides hot, nutritious, lunch-time meals for seniors and for individuals who are not able to prepare meals or leave their homes. For some, Meals on Wheels is a temporary solution while they recuperate from illness or surgery. For others, it provides a long-term opportunity to maintain independence.
PC(USA) Mission Agency
The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A) works faithfully to inspire and connect all Presbyterians to do Christ's mission. They pull together all parts of the church's ecosystem to nurture and shape disciples and serve Christ in the world.

Beacon is an Interfaith housing collaborative. Our congregation has supported Beacon by advocating for public funding, prayers and raising seed money for Emerson Village, an affordable housing community that will provide 40 homes for families in North Minneapolis which breaks ground on September 21, 2023!
