Join us for the March Fridays in the Valley concert benefitting the GMCC (Greater Minneapolis Council of Churches) Minnesota FoodShare March Campaign.

Fridays in the Valley presents An Evening with Boom Island String Quartet!

Join Boom Island String Quartet (BISQ) for an evening of music ranging from old treasures to new favorites. BISQ will guide listeners on a musical journey including selections from Danish String Quartet “Woodworks”, Samuel Coleridge-Taylor’s “Fantasiestücke”, as well as the premiere of a new piece by BISQ’s very own violist and composer Alexandria Mueller.

Boom Island String Quartet is a vibrant, multi-style ensemble based in the Twin Cities. Founded by four women who share a passion for bringing high-quality live chamber music to all, the group is equally at home in off-beat locations such as cafes and coffee shops as it is in the concert hall. Members are Martha McDermott (violin), Maya Lehmann (violin), Alexandria Mueller (viola) and Alia Mishra (cello).
